We're about to have our 2nd child in 5 weeks and already have a 17-month old. We'll need to have 2 monitors going - how have you handled this?

Thanks in advance.

Our second isn't due for another few months, so I don't have BTDT advice, but.... we are planning to get the Safety First Home Connection Monitor. It has three kid units (so one for each room plus an extra) and cycles through the units on the parents' end. So you can use one monitor system for both kids. I have a few friends IRL who have and like this one, so we're going to give it a try (I don't know what the reviews on this site have said, but I'm sure there are some if you do a search). It's available on babiesrus.com and I see them sometimes in the store.

I bought the Fisher Price sound n lights for DS#1 and for DS#2 we bought the FP 900 MH. We have had no problems with them interfering with each other. I was also looking for a monitor that I could take outside with DS#1 while DS#2 was sleeping and the FP 900 MH does that. I also like the cost and the dual monitors (so now we have 4 monitors in the house).

We have the Safety First Home connection monitor and it was worth it. I had a base unit in each of the boys rooms and one downstairs for when I had to run upstairs for a minute. Now that we are having our 3rd I am really glad we have it. It isn't as clear as the Sony Babycall but it is pretty clear. We had a Fisher Price one and HATED it. There was so much static. So far we haven't had any interference either. I also like that the parent units are rechargable and have the walkie talkie feature.

I posted a review after we got ours. If you do a search you will find it.

we had the old school FP sound n lights for patrick, and i bought both the FP 900 mhz and the evenflo tria to try out before sean was born. we returned the FP because we were getting feedback when i had them both on at the same time. so now the old sound n lights is in patrick's room and the evenflo tria is in sean's and i have receivers for both in our bedroom and the kitchen with no interference whatsoever. i never had a problem with the FP until i got the tria and realized how great the rechargeable batteries were b/c i can carry it around with me downstairs, outside, etc., and it has an out of range alarm. the FP is always plugged in because it devours 9 volt batteries and i don't even bother to put them in anymore.
