Where do you find these things? These are so cute! And what kid doesn't like pizza? :)

Eileen,

Just saw a little picture of the pizza plates in my 'American Baby'
magazine!
But, I go through my magazines very thoroughly! I probably
go through each one several times to make sure that I didn't miss
anything.
Then, I tear out any pages that I want to keep for future reference
and file them.

My husband always makes fun of me! He says that my idea of
a fun evening is a stack of magazines and a pair of scissors. :)

I'm such a loser! :)

Hee, hee, we all need our hobbies, right? :) I like playing with my Lego models and putting them together. My idea of fun used to be (back when I had more time) sorting my Lego by color and shape.

I guess I'm a geek and a loser! ;)

Corie,
I have to say that I get so excited when I see your posts. You always find the COOLEST things!! I am horrible with magazines, I flip through them once and mean to go back, but rarely do. Who knew I missing all this great stuff?! Thanks so much for your posts (and keep them coming!!)

I agree with the PP. You come up with the best things. I will have to look at my mags more carefully from now on.

Love those Ellababy shirts!

Thank you both for the nice words!! :)

I am a total freak with my magazines! I once bought a
magnifying glass to try and read the book titles on
a book shelf in the Pottery Barn Kids catalog.
(My husband just looks at me and shakes his head.) :)

That is how I discovered the book series called,
My Book House.

I tear out lots of pictures & articles and then file
them in my elaborate filing system. Sad but true!

I'm glad you share all your finds with us! What is the Book House series?

Corie -- All I can say is that I hope you keep having kids so you don't outgrow this board before I do!! :-)

I'd love to hear more about your filing system. I rip out pages from magazines and they collect dust sitting in a pile and then I can never find anything I am looking for!

Here is a picture (from Ebay) of a set of My Book House.
This set was published in 1971. I believe that this is the
last year the set was published. They are out-of-print.

I have 2 sets of My Book House. Both were published in 1971.
I purchased one set off Ebay and I found another set in mint
condition at Half Price Books for dirt cheap. Great find!

My set has 12 volumes. The first volume is written for a young
child. The stories get longer and are geared more toward older
kids as the volumes go.

Maybe someone has more information about this book set
and can clarify my babbling! :)

Hey Amy!

Not really much to tell about my filing system. It's just
my own little system to keep it organized.

I bought a bunch of file folders and a storage bin to hold all
my files. I have a label machine and I am very specific
with my labeling. Here are some examples of my files:

*Age Appropriate Chores
*Allowances
*Birth Announcements
*Birthday Party Ideas
*Book Club for Kids
*Computer Crafts
*Craft Ideas-General
*Cupcakes
etc., etc.

Then, I decided to create binders for the holidays. I had
way too many papers, ideas, pictures, etc. to fit in a file
folder for each holiday.

So, now I have a huge binder for Halloween, one binder for Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Years, one binder for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, & July 4th, one binder for weddings. (My secret addiction is wedding stuff!)

I put everything in page protectors and that way, I can take
it out and flip through it to find what I need.
I have each binder sub-divided too.
For example, the Halloween binder has dividers for:

*Costume Ideas
*Party Games
*Party Favors
*Crafts
*Recipes
etc., etc.

Okay, do you think I'm a total wacko now? :)

Totally NOT wacko!! I'm jealous of your organization skills! I need to get on the ball - you have been a good motivator!

OMG!! I do the exact same thing. I just went through my Magazines and cut out everything I wanted to remember or keep and filed them in the appropriate notebook:

* Child behavior
* Potty Training
* Halloween
* Christmas
* Easter etc..
* Recipes for Children

Too funny!

i love the filing system idea! how very cool is that! i too rip ideas and things I see in magazine. I was doing this well before i had a child. I am just putting them in a box, but what a smart idea to do them in a filing system. just yesterday i was serching through my box to find somthing, and would have been much simiplier to have it filed by catagory!

thanks!

I contacted Liberty Garage about a group discount
for us. The owner said that he would love to offer us
a discount on our orders. :)

They are revamping their website in April and he would
be able to offer us the discount when the work is complete.

So, just hang tight and I will keep you posted about the
details.

I have my set in the basement from when I was a little girl. Mine are all dark blue on the covers. I love the books and have great memories of reading them. Can wait to give to my children. You have inspired me to drag them out of the basement and put them on display in my son's room. Not sure when they were published, but they were probably bought for my older brother and he was born in 1971.

I have the same set(dark blue)! I loved those books when I was younger. It seemed like a rite of passage every time I moved up a book. My parents just gave me the set for our daughter but I haven't pulled them out yet.

OMG, I do the same thing, I get magazines just so I can find new stuff to buy. Most of the time I just rip out the whole page & when my pile gets big from a few mags I'll check out all the products online :)

I saw these, they do look adorable!
