Do you guys know where to get small kites IRL? I've found some online but the shipping costs as much as the kite itself! I've already checked Target (they said they usually get them every year, but don't know when they will be in) and Michaels. Or if you know anywhere with free shipping, that would be great, too.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Have you checked out TRU? We just bought one last weekend. They had sizes ranging from super small, maybe 1 foot (I guess so a small child could handle it themselves) to bigger, fancier ones (we got a Koi goldfish, still only $10). All the kites included the string and handle.

I just saw them at my TRU as well for $10. Someone mentioned picking one up at Costco for around that price as well, but when we went over the weekend I didn't see any kites at ours :(

DS is getting into kites now...my parents keep one for him at their house and it is something he enjoys doing with his Pop Pop ;)

I just picked up a small one at REI for $5 (for DD's Easter basket). That might work for you if you have one nearby.

Thanks so much for the TRU and REI suggestions! DS is only two, so the small ones would be perfect. :) Thanks!!

I just got my son a couple from Walmart and they were only $2-3 each!
