I was at Sam's today and saw this playhouse. My kids LOVED it but of course it is way out of our price range and really quite large. It was so big I could even fit in it. Not sure why but it is actually a little cheaper online. It was almost $1,700 at Sam's. No that was not a typo. If you have a whole lot of money in the budget this could be the playhouse for you. LOL.

Wow, that is CUTE! Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to put that up in your back yard?

My DD's preschool is looking for a big playhouse for their playground area, and they're having a fundraising campaign for it...I'm going to pass this info along. Thanks! :)

We saw this at Sams this weekend and I thought it was adorable! We went in for a closer look and saw the price tag. DH said for that much money our son will have to live in it while he goes to college ;)

We saw something similar at Sam's for around $1000, I think it was. It was probably as large, but maybe not quite as fancy? Or maybe my memory is fuzzy and it's the same thing. ;) In any case, Kaya LOVES playing in it and every time we go, it's a good place to let her hang out while one of us is checking out, but it's not easy getting her to leave!

...okay, I take it back. It's the same one we saw. :) It just didn't have all the furnishings that are in the picture. But you're right--it's a very cool playhouse, isn't it? Maybe I should convince our neighbors whose house was overbudget by more than the price of our house that they ought to get one of these. ;)

That is very cute and considering the retail on this one from Posh Tots http://www.poshtots.com/catalog/578/103/product_detail.asp ($4999 and it is one of the cheap ones), it actually *seems* quite reasonable. ;-) Not that I could afford either of these right now!

They have that right at the entrance in our Sam's.

I'm actually coveting the swingset they have. It's only $1k in the store.

I've seen the lilliput playhouses at Walpole Fence. They are absolutely gorgeous. I could practically live in one. I especially love the firehouse. Too bad I'm not rich!

Look at the playhouses, swingsets, and tree houses at:
http://www.barbarabutler.com/

Between the detailed painting, the colors, and the landscape design, they are practically art. With a pricetage to boot... most of her playhouses are over $10,000 and several have appeared in movies. Her custom white castle/gazebo/playhouse combo on her main page was over $100,000 (one of several with that pricetag) and was built to match a client's house. It boggles my mind.

Seriously. It's beautiful and undoubtedly well put together, but I bought a 3 BR/2 BA house on a third of an acre for the price of this freakin' playhouse!

A pic of what must surely be one of the world's most expensive playhouses:

Seriously, though, that website is a joke, right? They actually sell playhouses for $35,000? That's obscene.

ETA: Should have kept reading the thread. . . apparently it's possible to spend more on a playhouse than I did on my own house. There are no words. Why don't these people just film themselves wiping their butts with thousand dollar bills in front of hungry homeless orphans? Then we'd all get how RIIIIIIICCCH they are.

Hmm...I think our neighbor could build something like this, although his would be more modern looking. He has some structures that remind me of this (but again more modern looking) in his backyard/garden/hill. But he has a bunch of fish ponds with Koi on different levels as well. Still, I don't think he would spend >$100K building something like this!

My kids' wanted it too and I was like ha we can't even think about affording that!!

It's cute but IMO not worth that much money. I think it looked a lot like the greenhouse or storage sheds they had at Sam's in the past for less money.
