I got Jordan's 1st Bday banner from birthdayexpress.com. It was $15 dollars, but very durable and cute. I wish that I had only written "Happy Birthday Jordan" instead of "Happy First Birthday Jordan" so that I could reuse from year to year.

Corie, I just **know** that I saw a post about birthday banners a while back. They were custom made, maybe canvas, but definitely looked like the *type* you are looking for. If I am correct, someone even posted a picture of her banner. It may have even been a WAHM business. I did my own search in Around the House and the Lounge but I didn't find anything. If you don't get any responses here, I would post in the Lounge, because I know someone out there has an answer for you!

I ordered my daughter's banner from Purple Daisy Kids and posted a picture a while back. Jennifer from PDK is awesome and was so patient with me while I was deciding on the perfect fabric schemes for the banner. Ours is in red and pink, so that it will work with pastels or primary colors. It is made with gingham and polkadot fabric. SO well made--I can't say enough--LOVE it!! I have hung it on our curtain rod in our family room for the past 2 years. Jennifer might be able to make something custom if you want a different shape.

I'm having trouble posting pictures, but will e-mail you a picture of ours.

I also bought DD a banner from Jennifer at purpledaisy and I LOVE IT!! She helped me out when I couldn't decide what pattern/fabrics to use. We haven't used it yet, but the quality is wonderful. I'm very happy with it and would highly recommend her! :-)

I like the Pottery Barn-looking birthday banner pictured in my
original post but I don't think Pottery Barn sells them
anymore. (I want the banner to hang on the front door.)

And, while I do love the birthday banner from Purple Daisy,
this one would definitely be an inside banner since it is made
of cloth.

Also, I think Caly was checking with the owner of Purple Daisy
about trying to get us a group discount. I don't think that
she has heard back yet!
If we got a group discount, I would probably get one from
Purple Daisy and still continue my search for a birthday banner
to hang on the front door.

Am I making sense? :) I feel like I'm rambling on and on
and on...

That is quite unfortunate if she is no longer making them. I came to learn about this item from this website. I sent in some of my own fabric as one of the patterns, and she turned it around quickly because I need it for DS's birthday last week. I really like how it came out--looks bright and cheery and festive. I'll try and post a picture soon.

Not a canvas banner but I found a pretty good size nylon banner at Target the other day. Since i need it asap - this one works for me. Now to figure out how to customize it with my DS's name so I can use it for both DC's.

Okay, so Pottery Barn doesn't sell 'em anymore. You might still get one on Ebay if you watch and are lucky, I saw several that sold recently. If not, here's another option.

Custom Handpainted Canvas Birthday Banner $35 from another Ebay seller. At 21"x30" it is slightly shorter than the Pottery Barn version, but would still fit well on a door. Best of all, since it is a custom work, I am sure the seller would be able to change the colors, add names, and maybe even alter the design or size at your request.

First, I'm not going to order something sight unseen. I'm
too chicken! I need lots of pictures!

I hope her experience with me was not the reason she is no longer doing custom work! I sent her my fabric and she was friendly. I did ask about changing a few things-but they were not options, and I trusted her judgement and recs, and everything came out fine.

Regarding not being able to see the designs, back when i spoke with her (May this year) she had changed web site hosts and said she was limited in what she could show.
