DS is in Montessori school that is going to be going to a nearby pool during their summer sessions. They require a life jacket and I want to make sure I get the best kind for a toddler. I read about all the different types but wondered if anyone had any personal experience.

We have this one and are very happy with it. It fits ds well and he doesn't seem to mind having it on. HTH!

That one looks great. Can I ask how big/old is your son? Also, he doesn't mind the neck support?

we have the one from LL Bean. other than trying it on her in the store, we haven't used it yet so i can't give a review. i do know that within a week of buying it, we saw PFD's at costco for at least $10 less! always seems to happen that way. . .

i just checked out Bean's website and they have this one:

http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1&categoryId=17536&sc1=Search&feat=sr

which is not the one that we bought from the store in Freeport. hmmmm. . .

good luck!

Reed was 2.5 last summer when we first used it and just about 30lbs so he was at the minimum weight requirement for the jacket. The neck support didn't seem to bother him, but I suppose every child is different. Do you have a EMS or REI near you so you could go and try it on him? The LLBean one looks decent too and is less expensive :)
