I am looking for some good websites to order some more thomas and brio trains from. I have ordered from Creative Trains before with no problems, but I did read on this board that some other people have had problems with them. Can someone recomend some other sites to look at?

Thanks,

Jessica.

Kidsurplus.com carries Thomas and Brio trains. I've ordered from them several times with no problems.

I've also ordered from kindertrains.com.

My Meijer *still* has several Brio sets at 50% off, from January. For example the Panda set is 9.99.

Is that a physical store or a website?

I had a small problem with Creative Trains in the fall when the we were sent the wrong item and then spent a month waiting for the correct item to come. They never did get the correct item back in stock and finally refunded the money. We did get to keep the item they sent by mistake (the cheapest piece of Brio track out there! $2) So in the end it worked out fine. However Creative Trains doesn't seem to have much Brio in stock, let alone ever have Brio as a 'train of the day' deal. (I just went and checked and the same bridge is out of stock and has been since October.)

I highly recommend Trains Galore. http://www.trainsgalore.com/ Free shipping is over $45 and they have a pretty decent selection of Brio, in stock. If you're going with Brio, it's not easy to always find a site with the items in stock. Thomas is easy to find anywhere.

Other train websites that I have bookmarked (but have not purchased from);

Jo just posted about a sale at All Aboard Toys on the Bargains Alert board. I have never ordered from them, but you may want to check out their prices. The sale ends tonight.

I've never ordered from Creative Trains myself since I'm new to the whole train thing. But I did get an e-mail from Creative Trains regarding Brio trains and I thought I'd pass it on to explain the "shortage", maybe it will make sense to those of you that know more about trains.

Per e-mail newsletter I received:

Yes, our BRIO shelves have been pretty bare lately ... BRIO is in the process of vacating it's Germantown WI operations and relocating to Pennsylvania so replenishment has been fairly tricky. The good news: in another month, BRIO will resume shipping at their new location and we can look forward to many years of great BRIO products. In 2006, we can also look forward to the unique BRIO Network and all of the other new BRIO '06 items. Click on the link below to see all of the neat 2006 BRIO and read about the history of this pioneering company.

Hope that helps clear up things.

Meijer is a physical store in the midwest, like a grocery store+ gen merchandise too. If you have one near you, Iwould recommend calling since merchandise often varies by locality.
