I can't find the ones I packed away....and the ones at BRU today were either thin and scratchy or they had a bunch of pulled threads. Any favs?

My favorite was (and still would be if it were big enough) the hooded towel from Pottery Barn Kids. Pricier, but very soft and washed well.

I used flannel receiving blankets, we had a million of them and they were SO much softer than the nicest towels we had.
The PBK ones make for super-cute pics when your baby can sit up unaided (we just did a little lamb photo shoot :)
HTH!

My favorite is the 3 Marthas hooded towel because of its large size.

Ditto on the PB Kids...we got it as a gift. We also have a cute one that I like by Just Born. Can't remember whose line that is...dont't think it's Target, but probably someone like that. Kohl's perhaps?

My favorite ones are the ones my SIL made for both my boys- she took super thick and soft towels and sewed on a hand towel for the hood. Then she embroidered their initials on the hood. They are SO cute! Unfortunately, I can't sew and can't really explain how it's made. However, my boys are 2 and 4 now and we STILL use these towels at every bath!

we actually got ours from BRU and they were/are so soft - by waverly.

don't mean to hijack at all, but I'd love to see some more responses on big/toddler sized towels...ds is growing out of his!

I had a few hooded towels from Lands End and loved them! They stayed plush a long, long time and were fairly big. We still use them with our 2.5 year-old.

I like the animal ones from the children's place. They are larger than the ones I have from Target and BRU. If you are looking for something cheaper, but still nice!

I really like the ones from Ikea. They're cute, big, soft and fairly cheap! I'm sure the PBK towels are nicer, but these are great and can't be beat for the price. I tried to find them on-line, but I can't, so I don't know if they've been discontinued or not.

Kohl's has some nice animal ones for 11.99. I had a 15%OFF COUPON ALSO.

I really like our Petit Bateau hooded towels, which we got when DC were born and we still use them regularly now at 2 1/2. They are very soft and plush and have held up quite well.

I have one from Little Me (the worst), PBK (pretty good), but like someone said earlier "3 Marthas" is the best. I never heard of it before and just happened to buy it on vacation in Philly. It is so much bigger and thicker than other ones. If it is not in the laundry that is the one I grab!

I also recd the custom-made one you described and it is totally my favorite!! It's the only hooded that still fits my oversized 10 mo old DS!

My faves are the Mullins Square Kids poncho-style towels. We have one duck and one cow, which Ive managed to find at 2 big re-sale events (large scale garage sale type affairs). I *think* these are similar to the pottery barn kids poncho towels and may even be the same.
