How do you store kids books?

I am looking for something to use in a bookcase to store kids books so the kids can reach them and pull them out without making a mess. Any ideas? Right now I just have a big pile in the bookcase and its just too messy.

I use something on the floor, it's look's kind of like a file cabinet, I have 2 their rectangle shape & their pink, almost like an open box, sorry I'm terrible with describing things, they're from Home Goods, this isn't for a bookcase, we use it instead of one since we have no room.
