Okay, I've never actually looked at the Bumbo threads, so I'm just curious--are they really worth $30 or $40? I mean, what do you use them for that you can't use a high chair for?

Kaya will be a sister, ~11/14/06!
You use them on the floor before a baby can sit unassisted...Can be used for a 3 month old infant.
Apparently babies just love the new perspective they offer, and they can watch what is going on better. I wouldn't use this as a booster, it might fall off the chair. These have a TON of reviews on Target (4.5 stars)

There are a handful of reviews on Epinions, too
From the manufacturer:
"...promotes interaction through eye level feeding and communication. The Bumbo Baby Sitter can be described as the extra set of hands mothers have always been looking for".
ETA: There was an attempted Bumbo co-op awhile back, and parents could not get these for under $45 shipped, so this is a pretty good deal :)
Edited (again) :P to add: Looks like some people do use these as boosters, I guess I would do that myself as long as I was going to be right there and being very careful!
