Collectible Dolls

Does anyone know what the most popular collectible dolls are? The cutest? When I was a child, my parents gave my sisters and me Madame Alexander Dolls on special occasions. I also bought myself a Sasha Doll as a young girl. I'd like to buy some nice dolls for Ellie and Alice (eventually, not tomorrow), and I'm looking for some leads--beyond Madame Alexander. TIA!

The best way to find collector dolls is to find a doll store to go look at. I remember going as a kid to one in Vermont each vacation. We picked out a doll that we liked, was special to us, etc. If it is going to be collected it should be loved by the collector, kwim. I'll add more later.
