I came across this item while I was surfing on amazon.com and it looks really cool. I'm wondering if anyone's tried it out and if you liked it? Basically, it's a tank top with an inner tube attached to it to keep your little ones afloat in the pool. Looks fun, huh?

Hmmm, my only concern would be that if it doesn't somehow "snap" underneath your child that if they lifted their hands straight up they may slip through the innertube part...if that makes sense. I mean obviously if you were with them in the pool it probably wouldn't be an issue. I have one of these that I got last year...it's made by the same company. I guess it would depend on how old your DC is & if they've had any swim lessons. :)

Yep, I just got it as well. :) I couldn't pass up the price and it got a 4/5 average with 76 reviews, so I figure it's worth trying.

I remember reading an article somewhere that advised against these types of flotation devices because if the child flips over, the inner tube would actually end up preventing the child from righting him/herself. Sorry I can't find the link on the web at the moment...

One of the reviews suggested using the inflatable arm bands along with this type of float. Apparently kids can dive headfirst with this float, so the armbands help them stay above water.

yup, got one last year...didn't work out so well for my guy.

MIL has an inground pool, so together, we've probably invested about $200 in pool accessories & safety stuff.

any possible suit, floatation device, whatever...we've tried it, NOTHING...you know what we finally gave a shot at the END of summer...the arm wings, those $tupid, cheap wings worked wonders! charlie was able to "swim" around the pool with ease & no help on our part. *obviously, we were in the water though!*

as for the swim sweater, it doesn't have a snap or anything between the legs, it's pretty much a swim shirt + a tube...the shirt isn't even snug fitting...well, it wasn't on my 2 yr old last summer, he was about 26lbs.

the wings, it's all about the wings! well...and we are starting swimming lessons next month...charlie LOVEs the water, has no problem jumping off the board into someones arms, or holding someone's hand while jumping, so hopefully it works out well and then we won't need these floatys anymore :)

Wow--thanks for the advice. We'll look into the water wings, too. :)
