Our DS is too tall for our Graco PNP, so I was considering purchasing the T2 travel cot since it is a bit longer. I was all set to purchase it, when I saw a post here about possible problems with it tipping over.
Has anyone had problems with this?

The idea of a PNP-type product tipping over is frightening since it is clearly a place that you would leave a child unattended (to sleep).

My DD2 can tip it over very easily by leaning on the long side of the travel cot. She has done it more than once (the first time being at my SILs house with no gate at the top of the stairs) so if we use it we need to wedge it between the bed and the wall so she can't get out of it. DD1 has not had that problem at all when using it...at least yet.

Thanks so much for your response. I'm so sorry that that happened to you. How scary! I hope that your DD didn't get injured!

I'm so surprised that it is so tippy - and I'm so disappointed since this otherwise seemed like the best option for us.

By any chance, did you contact Phil & Teds or Regal Lager (sp?) about the problem? It would seem that a problem like that may warrant consideration for a recall.

Thanks again for your speedy reply!

Oh, this is good to know... My dd is 4 months and hasn't tipped it yet (heheh)... Yeah, I just went and stood in it and it doesn't seem like it'd take much to go over :( (My older kids haven't tipped it yet, but they aren't trying to, they just like playing in it...).

Does anyone have suggestions for a good travel bed for after they outgrow the PNP?

My DD is about 30 lbs now and at least 33 inches tall. She's only 17 months so she's still in her crib but we need something for her to sleep in at my in-laws. We go there at least once a month, sometimes twice. Their house is not totally babyproofed, and she would go nuts there if she got out of her bed, so I really need something she can't get out of for right now.

Do you think the T2 would be OK as long as it was set up where it couldn't be tipped? Or is there something better?

How about a ready bed inside of a pop-up tent? Or you could even just line the bottom of the tent with a quilt. We went on vacation a couple weeks ago and DD did really well inside the tent. It took her a couple times to realize she wasn't allowed to unzip the tent and we were fastening it with a twist tie so she couldn't do it during her naps and her bedtime. Anyway, after she got used to that idea, she would ask to go into her tent when she was feeling tired/crabby. The plus side of the ready bed/tent combo is that it is much much lighter than any of the PnP type things and it'll last her awhile, since the ready bed is 4 feet long. The tent was part of a $9.99 set on clearance at Target in the camping section.

HTH!
