We don't really buy each other gifts but last year DD1 bought Daddy some great picture books. :) Some were books I knew he would enjoy reading to her and only 1 of them was about being a Daddy. Most of the books that the bookstores feature for Father's Day tend to be too sappy IMO. The book we got last year was:

It's a really cute book, BTW.

Anyway, any recommendations for books that are a bit different but do feature a "Daddy".

TIA

After looking at the Daddy Mountain page on Amazon, I noticed that same page recommended Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems. I had heard great things about that book and it might fit the bill perfectly. If anyone else has any other suggestions, I would love to hear them!

We love Owl Moon. That might be a good one from Adelaide as it has a story to it.

We also have the Karen Katz daddy book that DD really loves, as well as Daddy Kisses which is sappy but cute (and was cheap at TJMaxx).

Best,
Mary

We bought this book a while back. It is really cute and not too sappy.

These are our 2 favorite Daddy books:

"Because your Daddy loves you"
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0618003614/qid=1148399646/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-9662233-5316132?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

This is my one of my favorite books of all (not just Daddy books).
"Daddy loves his baby". Flip it over to read "Mommy loves her baby"
Its very cute and my girls love it. It says things like "Mommy loves her baby like the fishes love to swim, like the monkeys love to swing, etc"

Yes, I saw that one awhile ago at Borders and said I was going to have to remember that one for Father's Day. Ofcourse I forgot! Thanks for the reminder. We have the Hair book by him - it's pretty funny.

Lots of really good suggestions and if anyone else any others, let me know! Even if it's too many for Father's Day, I can always add it to my wishlist at Amazon.

Forgot about a book that someone gave us that might be good for anyone out there wanting to give a book for Father's Day:
Papa, Please Get the Moon for Me by Eric Carle

For his first Father's Day, Ean gave Daddy the classic "Hop on Pop" which is now one of their favorites to read together.

My DH doesn't like sappy books either (Daddy's kisses was never a big hit). But he loves "Knuffle Bunny" by Mo Willems about a Dad's trip to the laundry with his little Trixie. It's cute and entertaining.

Knuffle Bunny is fabulous, although I dont really think of it as a "daddy" book even though there's a daddy in it. I love these suggestions -- I am looking to get my DH something for his first father's day! What non-book gifts would you recommend?
