I am trying to make the books more accessible for DS. I am considering the castle set from The Company Store.

I like that it has a back and is a lower price than the KidKraft Avalon 2 shelf bookcase (we have the table and chairs in that pattern) and I don't care if they don't match. Any others I should check out?

The bookshelf that I wanted for DD (we haven't bought one yet) was the type they have in schools where it is displayed forward facing. I read somewhere that it makes it appealing to them because they can view the front covers. Right now we just have books stored in a clear storage bin with drawers - DD sees and points to what she wants so I'm no longer as convinced that this sort of bookshelf is necessary.

Here's a photo of one...

I bought a bunch of white shelves from the Do Your Room collection at Target earlier last Monday (on sale). They were out of stock online, but here is a photo from last week's weekly ad. I bought two of the benches ($59 sale price), two of the large bookcases ($99 sale price), two of the extra large bookcases ($129 sale price), and a toy box (around $35). We've only got one XL bookcase left to assemble and they are nice, heavy, solid pieces. My family room looks *so* much better with toys and books stored nicely instead of spread out all over the room and stashed in mismatched containers.
