Okay to jump on another post below about wading pools, that got me thinking. . . maybe we need one! So having not looked into this since I was a kid many many years ago what should I be looking for? Are there cool new things in the land of backyard kid pools, or are they the same old overgrown plastic tubs they were when I was a kid? Any help much appreciated. I think we are finally about to get some hot weather here and am looking forward to cooling off in the backyard. As soon as I convince my husband that I, I mean we need one. . . you know for my daughter. :)

Thanks!

Funny you mention the same old overgrown plastic tubs...

I bought this great snap-flip out and fill up pool (my name for it), thinking this would be a breeze to set up and take down! Right? Right... yeah, you snap and flip and THEN you have to blow it up and fill up the outer ring. No fun. It also had to be filled completely to the inflatable part in order for it to stand up. This kind of resulted in a lot of water that seemed too deep for my comfort level, so off to TRU to get the same old overgrown plastic tubs...LOL! I was shocked to see how cheap (cost and quality) they were. But at least I'll feel more comfortable with being able to vary the level of water.

I do think there are a lot of fun and new options out there in terms of sprinklers, water tables, etc., etc.

If you go to Walmart or Target and go to the swimming pool section, there are all sorts of fun pools out there, including those with sprinklers, different sections, etc. We got a simple three ring pool (which is a bit deeper than the regular wading pool). You blow up each of the rings individually, but here's what was really cool--we got a simple foot pump and we splurged for the $9 one at Walmart and it took 30 seconds to pump that thing up vs. blowing and blowing and blowing by mouth! :) One nice thing about this larger pool is that I can probably fit in it as well this summer when DD wants to go out and play in it and I'm feeling too hot.

We have a simple three ring infatable pool that is filled with a simple electric pump from Target.

No frills, no fuss.
