Best way to buy a little tykes playhosue?

What is the best way to buy a plastic playhouse? Should I buy from a store and try to squeeze it in the car? (We have limited trunk space) Or should I buy online and pay for shipping? Also how hard are they to put together? Are step 2 ones easier to put together?

We have the log cabin. It fit on top of our Forester with a roof rack but would have been impossible with our older, smaller car.

I found it secondhand on Craigslist in great shape, the people had taken it apart already and it went back together really easily (use a little windex on the joints if it's hard to put together).

I usually just lurk, but since we just bought one today I thought I should respond. I guess it depends how big the playhouse. We bought the Step 2 Neat & Tidy Cottage today (which is one of the smaller playhouses), and we fit it in our very small 2 door Ford Focus Hatchback with the seats down. We went to Toys R Us and they had the measurements of the box size listed so we were able to go off of that.
