I am invited to a Discovery Toys party next week and
I don't want to spend an arm and a leg. I have a 5 month old and 3 year old. What is the best toy for the money? I was thinking of getting the teether for my 5 month old but 13.00 for a teether plus shipping! TIA!

Are you talking about the red, vanilla flavored teether? We have it and DD LOVED it as well as many other kids that came in contact with it. In fact, my SIL just hinted that she wanted one as a gift for her new baby (her ds is the same age as my dd and he loved it whenever they played together) as she never found a really good teether for her first ds. I went looking for a good, soft rubber teether that would work (since I didn't know a discovery toys person and didn't know if it would get here in time.) They are HARD to find and I don't think the one I got was nearly as good.

All that to say, I LOVE the red teether and although it is a little steep, it has been totally worth it here (well, actually grandma bought it, I probably would have never paid that much for a teether!)

That is really the only experience I have with Discovery Toys besides a noise maker type thing that I have seen cheaper many other places.

The teether is AWESOME! Actually, I've never bought anything from Discovery Toys I've been less than thrilled with. In fact, I'm hosting a party at my house later this month. Wanna come? :)

We have several of the games, and DS loves them. I wish I had my catalog nearby, but we also have the pop up basketball thingy. It was around $30 and gets used daily. DS was given the zip track when he was 3 even though it says it's for older kids, and he plays with that several times a week.

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong. These are wonderful toys, and they are sturdy enough that you will be able to pass things down from your older chld to your younger one, and then still sell them and make money! I used to work for a different company that sells kids' products, and while the quality there was good, it was NOTHING compared to Discovery Toys. These have held my kids' interest much longer than any other toys we've bought.

Geez. Never thought I'd gush about a brand of toys!!

My sister sells discovery toys so she has given us a bunch of them. I will say that some things get played with more than others, but they are all great toys. Plus they really stand by their products. Twice we have had things go a little wrong and they were replaced, no questions asked. You really get a lot of points towards free things if you host a party, so if you are really interested in a lot of things, consider hosting your own party. HTH!

I'd highly recommend their stacking cups. My daughter loved them as an infant, and now at 2.5 still adores them. They are wonderful! They not only teach nesting and stacking, but they also have numbers on the inside and different animals on the bottom of the cups.

I second the cups. My 4 year old still likes them, and my 10 month old is just starting to play with them.

We also like the tangi ball and the Busy Bath activity center.
