We're going on a trip this summer and I have been pondering about what to do w/ DS' bath (I do not want to use the hotel bath tub for obvious reasons!). We saw this at a baby store yesterday:

The White Hote Safety Duck Tub from Munchkin

Obviously, since we're taking a plane, we can't bring a tire pump! :( My question is, is it easy to blow up by mouth? DH is worried that he'll pass out before the tub is inflated. I just want to know how easy it is to manually blow it up. I've checked online and it's gotten good reviews on usuability but no one mentions how easy/hard it is to blow it up.

TIA!

We used that one for travel when DD was your DS's age. We blew it up by mouth and it wasn't a big deal. However, once inflated, we left it inflated for the duration of our stay in that place! It has a suction cup and drain hold so you can hang it up to dry. Hysterical watching mom and dad navigate in the shower to avoid ducky's beak!

Now we just have her shower with us which you might just want to try before you go and save yourself the ducky purchase!

Here she is with my sister back in November. :o

We used that in the tub at our house for ages. I blew it up by mouth. It worked great for us and definately would make a good travel tub.

We used the same tub with our DS last fall. It wasn't a big deal to blow it up. We stayed in the same place for a week, so we only had to blow it up once. We've only used it that one week, but I don't regret the purchase at all.

We had the same tub for DS except it was a Blue's Clues version. Like pp said, it's not bad to inflate and we just left it inflated for the duration. It's a nice size.

And it has lasting power -- We put it away and used it again with our second baby while traveling.

I would use that tub for your DS's age. We had it at home when DD was afraid of the big tub for a while.

On our trip this summer I'm bringing my own sponge and cleaning stuff and cleaning and rinsing the tubs myself. DD wouldn't fit in the duckie anymore at 2.5.

Best,
Mary

We bought that tub for a trip to the ILs house when DD was about 9mo. Her normal bath tub was a Eurotub, which she loved. For some reason, she was scared of the duck tub and her baths were *really* short b/c of it. It wasn't a problem to blow up at all, though.

We bought this last week for 2 reasons. One was to take with us when we travel this summer to places that only have showers. Two was to sit him in it on our porch since we are out there alot and it is soo hot!

It was easy to blow up, much easier than an older sassy one that deflated the minute he got in it.

My dd liked it right away. That is until we thought it would be cute to make it quack. She freaked out. We had to let her warm up to it gradually after that. My advice to you is to skip the Quack until your baby is quite used to it.

We used it for all her baths, even at home. It finally gave out, but she was more than ready for the big tub at that point. I will be buying it again, when my ds is old enough to sit up.
