I love the face on this Alexander doll, but it's not in stock and I would prefer lifelike hands/arms.

We have a Gotz Muffin Doll (darling, btw) but it's too tiny for regular clothes. The Bitty Babies are the right size, but I'd like something even cuter. Any recommendations? TIA!!!

There are Baby Huggums with lifelike hands and feet. That one just happens to have an all cloth body. Fwiw the Huggums are slightly smaller than Bitty Baby. At 7 the Huggums baby dolls are still one of my dd's favorites, especially for taking a baby someplace. It is nice and light, even the version with the lifelike hands and feet. Also the one with lifelike hands and feet has more of a bean body, she is really easy to get to sit. Bitty baby is a well packed soft body, she does not sit well.

I bought Ds a Berenger baby doll (LA Baby I think) and it can wear preemie or newborn clothing. It has a weight soft body with the vinyl head/hands/feet. The only thing is (at least ours) doesn't have blinking eyes or hair. Though the face looks very realistic.

ETA: I bought it at Toys R Us. It was *not* the Lots To Love one with the all vinyl body.

If you like the look of the Madame Alexander but want a larger one that fits preemie clothes, look for Victoria. She's too heavy for a young toddler though. At 3 Logan can lug her around now.

Thanks so much for the replies!! I am on a quest for the best price on a Victoria and/or an LA Baby, but I did find a good price on the Huggums doll at SmartBargains. There are also links floating around for 20% off any purchase (today only, no free shipping) and another one for free shipping.

By the way, don't base your choice on the clothes the doll is wearing because she will be naked for years anyway. Logan is still not interested in her babies having any clothes on. Buncha naked dolls all over the house . . .

Isn't that the truth! We have a Gotz Muffin doll we named "Tiny Baby" and poor Tiny Baby has been naked since day one. We find him lounging on the stairs, naked, on a regular basis. Or else he's the one getting into the chocolate kisses (or so DS says)...

We've got naked dalls all over the place too. So seriously, I don't need to worry about different outfits for the dolls for awhile? Will that hold her interest at all? (I should mention she loves to take the clothes off, it's just me who gets tired of putting them back on, hence, their state of undress!)
