Hey does anyone have a good wooden airplane recommendation? I've done some google searches but so far nothing is calling my name.

Mari loves planes so wanted to find one for her birthday.

Thanks!

No idea, but let me know what you find out :)

We've done the cheapo balsa wood ones several times (of course they get destroyed easily) but Logan loves that they actually fly :) Not exactly sturdy enough for play though.

He also loved a huge styrofoam one we had (from a hobby shop)...it was about 2.5 ft. long or so and he loved flying it in the yard until our dog led to its tragic death ;)

Anyway, if you see anything nice, let me know :)

My brother and I LOVED those balsa wood ones! They are so cheap but such play value for the $.

Best,

We've got the Montgomery Schoolhouse maple airplane bookends. They're beautiful and would love to get the actual plane they make. Its not one that will fly on its own but would be a great toy. I don't know about this website but here's a link to a pic.

Cute prop plane by Plan for about $8, but it may be a bit small (though I can't find specific dimensions listed):

Then there are these for $20 each:

And this for $32:

Hope that helps!

ETA: If you decide to go a softer, less-realistic looking route, there's always the Huggy Buggy plane, which my DS loves:

We have the one towards the bottom with the three peg people. I love it SO much, and Colwyn does, too. I plan on getting him more vehicles from that company at his birthday or something. I only wish the pegs weren't so small, we have to keep it away from Lachlann.

Does she like Jay Jay? Are you avoiding characters? DS loves Jay Jay Jetplane. They are about $10-15. DS has 2 favorite characters Jay Jay and Tracy (girl). I got a set at FAO Schwartz, but they are sold out.

Yea, I saw the set at FAO but she has no idea who Jay Jay is..avoiding the character thing. The faces totally weird me out to be honest.

We always got them in our Christmas stocking and Easter basket, so I've been continuing that tradition with DS :) They are sooo inexpensive and DS really does get a kick out of them :)
