My boyfriend's parents keep asking what they should get Conner for his birthday. This year I really haven't thought much about it. Usually I have lots of ideas. They'll most likely want to get him something to play with. Probably around $100. Can anyone think of any big gifts? We already have a wooden kitchen with tons of food, lots of Thomas trains/track, musical instruments, a Kettler, a playhouse, Barclay blocks, and Automoblox cars. Any ideas not on my spoiled child's list?

When you wrote a playhouse, did you mean one for him to play in, or for doll-like things? I ask because I think either of these would be great gifts! We got DS, who is very physical/active a Ryan's Room house and our families got them some furniture and DS has really enjoyed playing with it, especially since it is so different from his more active toys. I don't have, but would like, a playhouse-type thing since DS is now really into pretend play...

This is the one I got (although it was 50% off when I bought it).

Other ideas would be an assortment of games - my DS is really getting into playing games - Hullabaloo, Candy Land, etc. or maybe some good art supplies? Do you have Lakeshore Learning near you? They have great stuff - paints, easel, beading, etc... www.lakeshorelearning.com

Have fun thinking of something!

How about a tent or some of the cardboard blocks? I would get the bigger blocks that are all one size. Maybe a gift certificate to a bookstore and they could go with him and help pick out books. I'm big on non fiction books that can be used as references for a long time.I'd also reccomend My Very Own Name Book from www.iseeme.com
This can be personalized from them.

You could also get a butterfly kit where you send away for the caterpillars and watch them turn into butterflies. I did this last year for my grand daughter's 3rd birthday. Then I got her a few books both fiction and non fiction on butterflies. and a pair of butterfly wings. She loved it. They also have ones for ladybugs and an ant farm.

They could also get him a set of Jerry Pallotta ABC books.

I really like the butterfly kit :). My friend had a lady bug kit and I thought that was so neat. I sent my boyfriend the link for a website that sells them.

I really want a train table, but we live with my mom right now and there's no room. We're moving out in Dec/Jan and Conner will have his own room then so the grandparents said they'd get that for Christmas. I mentioned we had a playhouse-- it's an outdoor playhouse. I did just pick up the Ryan's Room Fire Station from Target last night, so that covers having a dollhouse type toy. The grandparents live in CT and we're in CA, so anything they buy will be shipped here.

Toby just turned three and he had a blast going with my parents to pick out a toy at the store with them. He ended up with more train stuff, but he really got into choosing which one to get.
