View Full Version : I LOVE these!!

I just came across this in one of my magazines and
I think I must order a set for each child.

It is called the Bumpy Name. It is an elastic band
with your child's first name and it fits over bottles,
sippy cups, sports drinks, etc.
I love it!

My kids are always getting their sippy cups mixed up
and Carson refuses to drink out her cup if Knox has
gotten to it first. :)

Check out their website.

I'd order a set for my DD maybe even for my niece and nephew. I emailed the company a minute ago to see if they'd ship to Canada ...

What a clever idea! I just wish they came in other colors besides pink, blue and green. :-( The custom option would be great for daycare.

Same here for custom ones. But I was disappointed to see that the Braille for custom bands reads "InchBug" and not the name.

We actually have a set of these for daycare. I do like them, but on a glance the name is hard to read (they have great lighting in their photos!).

I was really excited when I saw this post because when I ordered about two months ago they weren't doing custom names. So, now maybe I can get a set with her actual name instead of "cutie pie."

:) You always find the NEATEST stuff! I'm in for a group discount. DS's name isn't on the list, so I'd need to order 4. (I think I'll just get the LAST name on there.)

These are great! A bunch of the kiddos at my DS's old daycare had them and I just put through an order for us for his new daycare (we just moved) that has both his name and "No Dairy" on it to help the staff remember.

I would order more, though, if we did a group order.

Ohhhh, Corie, you are good at this! :)

I will be interested. Crazy idea: but this seems like a good idea for party favors, even for adult parties. We are always asking each other: is that coke yours or mine?

ETA: Now I saw the price... maybe too $$$ for a party favor. I wonder how feasible it is to only invite people whose names are the same and are on their existing name list. LOL

I just spoke with the owner of the company and unfortunately,
she is unable to do a group discount.
Their website doesn't have the capability to enter in a
discount code.

I'm bummed!!

Awwww...I saw these in a magazine just a few days ago and had already emailed asking about a group discount (since they mention one on their website.) I hadn't heard back yet. Oh well. I may order some anyway! Even though I did just place a Stuck On You order.

Corie
08-10-2006, 03:49 PM
The group discount mentioned on their website must be
a minimum of 50 orders mailed to just one address.
(This is perfect for daycares, preschools, camps, etc.)

Corie
08-10-2006, 03:51 PM
I'll probably still order a set for each of my kids too.
I really like them and I think they will get alot of use! :)

Corie,

Thanks for looking into a discount. I am still planning on ordering some. Just trying to decide on what to put on them... first name, first name with last name initial, just last name (so that all of my kids can use them).

It's such a neat product! Thanks for sharing your find. :)

Corie
08-12-2006, 09:38 PM
I did it!

I ordered a custom set for each child.

I got pink for my daughter and just used her first
name. And, I got blue for my son and just used his
first name.

Can't wait to get them!!! :)

Argh! I haven't been on the boards much and of course my first visit back, I place another online order! These are great cause my kids are always getting their sippies mixed up (and I can't remember either) and when DD has the croup and I desperately don't want DS to get sick as well, this will be a good thing!

Thanks, Corie!

P.S. I think the "website doesn't have option to take a discount code" is a crock (others have arranged for special ordering via email etc) but the price is pretty low anyway (and low shipping, too, which I like) so not a biggie.

it's total BS. where there's a will there's a way. Besides, they could always credit us a discount!

Corie
08-13-2006, 08:20 AM
I suggested this idea to the owner. She said that they
did not have enough manpower to do this. I think she
got afraid when I told her our message board population
was over 21,000.

Apparently, their product was featured in Parents magazine
and they have been swamped with orders. They are a very
small company.

Here were her reasons for saying no-

*already completely swamped with orders

*not enough manpower to look up every order and credit
the person's account, this would be too time-consuming

*they are charged for every transaction including credit
transactions (so they would be crediting our accounts
and being charged for a credit transaction)

I think maybe I sounded harsh - I can see why she'd get nervous with those numbers and in general I've actually been surprised when people (like snacktrap a few years ago) agree to do a special discount that their system is not really set up for, but I guess sometimes it seems worth it.

And of course it's not as though merchants are somehow obliged to give group discounts!

Corie, I'm always grateful for your willingness to ask and pass on these great group discounts when they do work out.

:)

Laurel,

I didn't think you sounded harsh at all !! I am totally
thinking the exact same thing you are!

I'm always surprised when companies turn me down for a group
discount. This is FREE advertising for them!! This message
board has over 21,000 members. The majority of us are moms.
Plus, think of all the people that we would tell or other moms who would see us with this product while we're out at the mall, playgroup, gym class, etc.

Got my custom bumpy name labels in the mail today!!

I ordered them on August 13th and got them today, August 21st.
That was only 8 days!!

(The website says to allow up to 3 weeks for delivery of
the custom labels.)

I got mine (standard) the other day as well - they've been working out great for us. We've been trying to help our kids not use each other's sippy cups so much (since we've all been getting sick a lot) and this has been a huge help. A pp mentioned that they aren't that easy to read from a distance, this is true and apparently intentional so that strangers can't easily read your DC's name, I guess.
