Super Heroes

DS is really in to super heros right now- Batman, Spiderman, Superman, LarryBoy... you name it. But honestly, I don't want him to end up with a bunch of plasticky super hero toys... Are there any sort of "generic" super hero toys out there, preferably wooden? I don't want a bunch of commercialized stuff. We already have a batman and spiderman costume. I'd prefer to avoid the hype and get him some lasting toys. Any suggestions?

I am not sure but I'll bet someone makes generic super hero stuff. We like the spderman and friends superheroes... plasticky but DS loves them and they are a little more "friendly" looking and geared for younger kids!

You could get some playsilks that he could use as capes and be his own superhero.

Or do like my brother and I did -- tying long-sleeve shirts for capes! :)
