I am trying to find an alternative to our big green deep box that we keep the markers in. It is so deep that we lose the caps and the markers dry out etc... Has anyone seen a lazy susan type holder that sits on the counter to hold them? That would be ideal. Does anyone have something that works great? Thanks

OK in that First Art book, I recommended several threads ago, the author explains how to make a marker holder using a bread pan and plaster of paris. You mix up the plaster of paris, pour it into the pan and put the marker caps about halfway into the plaster of paris. Let it dry and there you go. I can't wait to give it a try.

I keep them in a little craft/gift bucket, similar to the ones you often see in the $1 aisle at Target. I keep crayons in the small GLIS boxes from IKEA.

Thanks! I also looked at misterart.com and found a spinning one. But would like to find it locally since the shipping costs almost as much as the caddy!

Ooooh! If you don't want to waste a bread pan, I bet an old wipes container would work. Do you just use the bread pan as a mold and then dump it out?

We keep markers, colored pencils and long twistable crayons standing up in misc. cups or mugs. These just stay out on her easel tray or table all the time. Regular loose crayons go into small IKEA glis boxes, like Caroline uses.

From what the instructions say, the pan becomes part of the holder. I bet an old wipes holder would work too.
