Yes, this is a boring question...but essential for my roaming DS.

I am looking for a lever door lock. The door leads to the outside and has a twisting lock right above the door lever. If the door is locked, as soon as you push the lever down from the inside, the door unlocks.
I can't use the one that is carried in a bunch of places (including One Step Ahead)--apparently it won't work with this type of set-up.

Does anyone have a lock for a lever with a twist latch above it?

Thanks!

My kids could both easily open one of our lever locks simply by pushing harder on the handle, so we replaced it with an overhead door lock. It's like this one:

It's unobtrusive and fairly easy to use, though it does stick a little. If the top of your door is too high for you to reach, you can also mount it along the side of the door above the child's reach. HTH.

We have these on a bunch of our inside doors (bathroom, pantry, laundry). They are very handy!

For doors to the outside, we have this:

I found the lever door locks better for like a closet or something you don't need to open from both sides.

Elizabeth, thanks for the site -- good prices and selection! I need some more.
