Nick is really into stickers but I am not so much into scraping them off walls, refrig, well you get the picture. Is there anytime of reusable sticker type toy. I have in my head some type of animal set with a special background you can apply the animals too over and over something along those lines. Does not have to be animals though.

What about colorforms or felt board/figures?

We have Bob the Builder Colorforms -- they're just a couple bucks at Marshall's (or Ross?).
We played with them this morning. Big hit around here!

Great idea!!! We just went to the Wiggles concert and got a little thing of stickers and a "stage" to stick them to. Zach loves it, but is quickly destroying it. Colorforms would be a perfect solution.

Thanks!

Hi,

Just a heads-up about Colorforms: you have to be pretty careful with them or the color starts to come off. DS has 2 Thomas Colorforms sets. He plays with them daily (pretty much whenever he sits on the potty), but if they get wet or greasy, the ink quickly degrades and starts coming off.

We haven't figured out a solution, other than to just replace them periodically. Don't get me wrong, though--we still love them.

I won't ask how they get wet in his current, uh, application. LOL and just kidding! ;)

Thanks for the warning!

Best,
Mary

Bookstores like B&N and Borders have reusable sticker books. DD has had several.

We love the magnet boards by Imaginetics

http://www.amazon.com/International-Playthings/dp/B000FJ17AI/sr=8-6/qid=1156945946/ref=pd_bbs_6/002-3813798-5126439?ie=UTF8

I buy them at a local toy store and they come in small nd large sizes and tons of themes. I have bought Thomas nd construction themes. Both my 3.5 & 2yo play with them. They are great for restaurants, etc. There was a post a while back with a type that were in tins and seemed really nice but I forgot what they were called.

Also check TJ Maxx if you have one near you. Ours had TONS of Wiggles one the last time I checked. Also Dora the Explorer.

Mary,

And I won't try to pretend that what you're hinting at has never happened! :-)

But, more often, he wants to give the trains a "wash-down" when we wash hands. And the constant handling in a toddler's grubby little hands also seems to make the ink break down.

I also want to second the recommendation for Imaginetics. I wish I'd known about them sooner, because they do hold up better than the Colorforms and we like the stiff folding board better than the smaller Colorforms background. They are a bit more expensive, and are less widely available.

charlie isn't a big fan of colorforms, but does love the magnetic boards. we have a thomas playbook from tj maxx that came with 9 thomas magnets and 6 pages of "scenery". i've been meaning to get an imaginetics set, but keep putting it off whenever we go to the toy store, they do have TONS of styles, construction, thomas, bob the builder, princesses, ponies, dollhouses, etc.
