We currently have our treadmill in our playroom which is soon moving into the basement. However, DS loves it. He spends hours climbing up on it, climbing down it, banging on the hollow end of it and starting all over again. I think he's really going to miss it when it's in the basement. So we were trying to think of something we could replace it with. Some kind of climbing thing (he likes the sort of slides at Gymboree where he climbs up the one with holes in it and climbs down the one that's kind of like a rock climbing wall).

The only catch is that we want to put it in the playroom so it can't be too big. The playroom is a good size, but it's not huge by any means. I thought about bringing our small Little Tikes slide inside for the winter. That's definitely a possibility, but I don't think he can climb UP the slide very well and I'm looking for a good climbing toy. Any suggestions?

We got DS the Step 2 Kangaroo Climber for his playroom when he was around 9 months old. His playroom is about the size of a large bedroom, and still has room to spare for a train table, sofa, and various other toys.

When we got the KC, he could crawl into the holes on the side and pull himself up, and go down the slide (with help, of course). He's still really into it at 25 months. Now, he can open the back door and walk in, climb up the steps on the sides, and of course he still really enjoys the slide.

I don't know the exact dimensions offhand, but you should be able to find them here:

Another plug for the Kangaroo Climber. When it was too hot to go outside here a few weeks ago I brought ours into the living room. The climber footprint is roughly 36X54, and it assembles and dis-assembles quickly and easily.

The KC has gotten a lot of good reviews from people I know who have it. That said, Kaya's indoor climber is a 7 foot cat tree. ;)

Thank you for the suggestions. I'm really bad at spacial relations so it was very difficult for me to tell how big the different structures really were. But the Kangaroo Climber sounds perfect. I think DS would really like that. And the playroom is a fairly decent size (two small bedrooms put together). And the fact that the KC has easy assembly is very very important for his mechanically challenged parents as well!

Thanks again.
