I want to get DD a traditional wooden rocking horse, but I haven't had much luck finding one. This weekend we were visiting my parents who live out of state and they brought out my rocking horse from when I was a child. DD absolutely loved it! Anyone have any suggestions?

Nope, but I have had this seller on my eBay favorites list for a couple of years...

Maybe one day I will get around to buying the horse :) I think I got the seller's name from another member of the BBB - maybe she will check in and give you some feedback.

I saw a traditional looking one at Land of Nod (www.landofnod.com) I don't know if it's online or not but my son had a ball riding it in the store. It was completely wooden.

Pottery Barn Kids also had a wooden one but I think it may have had some yarn hair or something on it too. My mind is foggy on that one.

The other place I've seen beautiful rocker toys is in Amish furniture shops. I don't know if you have any in your area or not but they're normally well price, beautifully crafted, and have that timeless look about them. Good luck!

My parents insisted on buying dd a rocking horse at 8 months for christmas. they bought this one at Target. ours is brown not pink.

http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-4/qid=1157492614/ref=sr_1_4/601-3623890-0226562?%5Fencoding=UTF8&asin=B000BKEDQQ

I was skeptical, but dd loved riding it with our help the last 10 months ...and about a months ago DD(now 16 months) can climb on it herself and rock back and forth. she loves it. Lots of my friends older kids up to 4 love to rock on it too.

Well, not a horse exactly, but we just got Linnea a rocking moose at Ikea for her birtday. It was very reasonably priced and she LOVES it. I wouldn't have thought about getting one for her at such a young age, but we couldn't tear her away from it at the store. I can take a picture if you would like to see it.

I'm bumping this one. I'd love to hear about your experiences. I am thinking of getting DS a rocking horse for his birthday, but would love those real plush ones running 160+, not so much wooden.

Something to this effect.
