Best toy cash register??

Can someone recommend a toy/play cash register? Also, what age could a child start enjoying this toy? I saw one by Parents brand at Target today for $19.99 and it looked really cute but I can't find any reviews on it.

Do you have a preference for plastic vs. wood?

I know Target sells a plastic one that has been mentioned in some old threads.

DS has a wooden one exactly like this (but found at a consignment sale)

he's played with it periodically, but has gotten much more interested in it in the past month or so (he's 2.5). Since hitting 2.5 his pretend play has really taken off and so he now enjoys helping me set up a little store and he uses the register to check me out, scan groceries, etc.

Ours doesn't have a drawer, but the whole lid (with the numbers) lifts up on a hinge so he can access the area for money storage. It does "ding" a little bell when opened though.
