How far should DS be from the computer screen?

DS started to play with our laptop and loves all those toddler sites. Should I be concerned with his vision development? My mom is constantly telling me that DS is too close to the screen which will cause him to wear glasses. TIA.

Hmmm... if he holds a toy or book up to his face while he plays with it, will that affect his vision? No.
Her advice is probably based on the old "wisdom" that sitting too close to a TV will affect vision. Not only are old TVs and new LCD screen laptops totally different, there was never any scientific proof that sitting too close was harmful.
So my DH's advice - have him sit close enough to reach the controls... if he can't reach the controls, he won't have fun. :)
My advice is similar - if he's having fun and learning, let him be. There's time enough for nagging him about things like reading in the dark or listening to loud music in the years to come. :)
