I am looking for some kind of toy and/or book storage for my daughters room.

I was considering some via toy boxes http://www.viatoybox.com/products/complete_boxes.html. Does anyone have any experience with these?

Any other suggestions?

Someone posted not long ago that they have the Via Toy Box in their house and quite like it. If the person didn't see your thread, you could either do a search to find the old post or you could edit your thread title to include VIA Toy box to make sure she sees your thread.

They look really cute and the price is relatively reasonable.

Hi- I did post a while back about these toy boxes. I really like them because you can arrange them in different ways as your kids get older. They are wood and remind me of furniture you see in preschools. I did have one problem with the top that I ordered, it was damaged a bit in delivery but I decided to keep it as it was on the part that was against the wall. They have great customer service though and I am sure they would have replaced it, I just decided not to bother with it.

I ordered three boxes in natural, with three different fronts, red circle, natural door, and a green square. I also ordered a book holder for one side, and a solid top. It holds a lot of toys inside as well as having space for my DD's FP dollhouse, farm, etc., on the top. For the price, I think these are a great deal and look a lot more like real furniture then some of the other things I looked at, and you can always order new fronts if you change your decor.

I know quite a few people have used some of the box style shelving from Ikea for toy storage too, if you do a search you should find a few recent discussions about those too. Let me know if you have any specific questions about Via.

Good luck and happy shopping!

Was someone thinking about trying to set up a co-op with them? Did anything ever come of that?

You know I vaguely remember that too, but I was in a rush to get something so I just went ahead and ordered. Maybe someone else will know. :)

Wow.....those are way cute! I wish I had seen those last year when I was looking for toy storage.

FWIW, here's what I bought:

They also come in pastels for your DD.

I've been pleased with them, although they are particle board (or MDF), not real wood like the toybox ones.

The Via toy boxes look really cool. But, just wanted to throw in my .02. I have these from Company Kids:

The shelves come in white or 'honey' and the bins come in your choice of primary colors, pastels or camouflage. I'm all pinked out so I went with honey and yellow primary bins. What I really love about this is the bins are removable so if you wanted to put all your blocks in one bin, you can easily bring the bin to any part of your house. The bins are soft too so they won't hurt the kiddies or scratch up the shelves. And you can mix and match the colors as much as you want. I bought two 6 shelf systems and in each system, I left two of the shelves blank so I could store puzzles, books, or large, bulky toys. I just can't say enough good things about our shelves.

Jennifer,
Do these shelves have backs? I need something with a back, because we will be putting it up against baseboard heating (which is perfectly safe, but it won't be flush with the wall).

Thanks!

We have a PB storage system in our family room but don't think we want to spend that much for a duplicate in the basement. This looks like a much more economical option.

I e-mailed them to see if they might be interested in a bulk (co-op) order! So I'll post as soon as I hear anything!!
