We recieved the Fisher Price 900 Mhz Privacy Connection as a gift. I plugged it in to give it a try. Well even when I am in the living room if the volume is to high it is making this high pitched noise (like when a mic gets to close to a speaker). So is this because we have alot of electronics, or because our apartment is to small for the range? I really like it hope we don't have to buy another. I mean our apartment isn't that small but I just don't get it...

Have you tried all the channels? If yes, and it is still humming, return it and try another. If you want monitor, you are going to need to try others. Monitors in apartments are tricky and usually needs some trial and error to find the one that will work. You have to consider not only interference from YOUR electronics but also interference from your neighbors' electronics. Good luck.

Try turning the receiver to a different direction. If it's pointing towards the transmitter (baby's room), it'll amplify itself.
