Wow, sounds like a lot of outdoor sports stuff. My DS really likes that kinda stuff now and since we live in CA maybe it would work to get him some more of that for his Oct. birthday and Christmas. Thanks for the response. The ball pit sounds like a blast.

The automoblox cars are really cool. You can even interchange the parts.

for charlie bday he got:
little tykes tball/pop up ball set & bat
leapster & and pre-k games (best buy yet!!)
more and more hot wheels

this year im getting him more thomas trains & hot wheels and the step2 canyon road table. its a train/car table with moulded in roads/bridges/tunnels. we have a reg train table and tracks, but ds2 keeps taking it apart and charlie keeps freaking out, so i'm taking that to my mom's so that she can deal with them! right now, i just don't have the patience and max doesn't know any better and charlie keeps beating him :)

I found our Christmas list from last year (ds was 3):

tickets to Dora Live
tickets to the symphony for kids' concert
membership to children's museum
Little People house and castle
dress up trunk
Dora video game
fire truck
tinkertoys
Hot Wheels and car carrier truck

Of those the Tinkertoys were the biggest hit probably. For the dress up trunk we asked everyone to buy items for it (or look around their houses). Hats, sunglasses, bandana, old Halloween costumes...al that fun stuff is what we put in it. He is getting more into this now that he is 4.

ETA: I found the list of what we actually bought him, as that was just the list we had of ideas. What we also bought were:
floam (played with it once)
several books
Dr. Care Bear (I knew this would be a waste of money and it was...the $5 Fisher Price Dr. kit is much better!)
Geotrax
Word Whammer by Leap Frog (he is really into playing with this now- I just wish it had more than 3 slots)
sleeping bag
bed tent
puzzles
Brain quest preschool game (bought it at the bookstore and they are awesome! We got a lot of use out of the different sets! Great stocking stuffer)

Doctors kit (we have the Int Play one)
Hotwheels/Matchbox cars and launchers
Thomas trains
Shake n go racers
Art supplies. The Alex Giant Art Jar is great. DS has a love affair with glue so I stocked up during the back to school sales. Also, water colors, paintbrush pens, markers with the stamps on one side etc.
Unit blocks
Kettler trike
soccer goal
floor puzzles (Crocodile creek or M&D)
Play kitchen/food
table and chairs

eta: Lincoln Logs!! DS loves those. And I am put Tinker Toys on his Christmas list. Santa will get those if someone from the family doesn't.
