Anna loved the tea set at PB Kids, and I thought it was adorable, until I saw how much it cost!!

Suffice it to say, I am not willing to pay $60+ for a tea set regardless how cute it is!!

Does anyone have any recommendations for a similar looking tea set? I have seen some porcelain tea sets, but our house is not ready for that yet. TIA!!

Good heavens that IS expensive. We have one from Target that came in a pink wicker picnic suitcase... I'll have to check if it is plastic - I'm pretty sure it is. I'll be home on Wed. and I'll check for you, unless someone else already knows what I'm talking about!

Hi Eileen!
we have both this plastic one from fisher price
http://www.fisher-price.com/us/products/product.asp?id=5422

and this wood one from Melissa and Doug
http://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-Wooden-Tea-Set/dp/B0007OF1WG/sr=1-18/qid=1161625790/ref=sr_1_18/104-2143675-0700705?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games

We love them both and they are a lot less than $60!!!

We also are not ready for porcelian yet...

Thanks for the links! We have a knock off of the M&D tea set from TRU that Anna received as a gift for her second birthday. It has been a HUGE hit in our house!

We have that FP set. DD LOVEs it, but I'd advise taking the batteries out of the teapot lid before giving it to your DC, unless you have a desire to hear I'm a Little Teapot 10,000 times in one day. ;)

We also have the FP tea set.
It never even crossed my mind to take out the batteries on the lid.
One day the lid just "mysteriously" disappeared but my DD's both love playing with it.

I also purchased 2 porcelain tea sets from TJMaxx for really cheap for when my DD's get a bit older. They come in a little picnic basket with coordinating silverware - very cute.

I love the PBK one too--but it is ridiculously expensive.

Schylling makes a enamelware(?) tea set too--there's an older version in green and pink and a newer version in light blue. Check their website to see all their many tea sets. I've seen the enamelware ones on kidsurplus.

I had a tin teaset as a child and adored it. That one looks great.

I just have to add... you HAVE to get the haba teabags and sugar cubes in a tin to go with whatever tea set you choose. ;-)

they also have some cute little toasts, candies, and other tasty treats you might serve at a tea party.

Just to let you know this tea set is very, very, very, tiny. I was shocked when I got it, I really expected it to be much bigger. Not adult size but not that size either. Get the place where you are ordering from to give you some dimensions if at all possible. It was almost to small for DD and she was 2, she doesn't play with it very much... I too am in search for the perfect tea set... Good Luck...
