My husband and I have started the tradition of getting one rather large family gift each Christmas and/or other special holiday. For Easter/our son's baptism (which was close to the holiday) we bought the Step 2 sand/water table. It gets a lot of use from our son and his cousins/friends. This year we would like to get an outdoor play set - something with a slide, swing, etc. My son will be 23 months old and my daughter will be 6 months. We want something durable, fun, safe and that will last awhile. Any suggestions? Not partial to plastic or wood..we live in AZ though so it will take a beating during the hot summer months. Also, needs to remain somewhat cool to the touch during the summer.... Thanks in advance.

We have the Castle climber http://tinyurl.com/yn4o93 . It has held up well and the kids seem to enjoy it when they come over.

I guess I'm not sure what you're looking for. Do you want a small toy type? Or a big system? This summer, we got a playset from Rainbow Play and it has 3 regular swings, a toddler swing, a slide, a rope ladder, a chain ladder, and a rock wall. It's huge, but we love it.

We got this one last year. Madeline was 3... we love it, it was easy to assemble, DH and a friend did it in an afternoon...
They had free shipping so that helped as well...
