Can anyone suggest where to get a classic looking (as in no Disney characters, etc.) first Christmas ornament? I would ideally like to be able to personalize it with DDs name and birthdate, but that's not critical. Our tree is almost entirely German nutcrackers and Santas, and other traditional wooden ornaments and I would like to find somehting that at least kind of fit in. TIA!

DD recieved two from Things Remembered last year. They were very simple and classic. Try there!

You might want to check out www.bronners.com They have lots of ornaments that you can get personalized and they are in Frankenmuth (Michigan's Little Bavaria), so a wooden ornament might be there, too!

Lennox and Waterford make some very nice ones that we have gotten for the boys - not too expensive either. The "suggested retail" is usually heavily discounted at places like Bed Bath and Beyond. Or, you can wait until the day after and try and get them. We have also gotten the Hallmark yearly ornaments that "grow" with the child for the first five years - they have a baby the first year, a toddler the second, etc.
