DD will be nearly 8 months at Christmas and people are asking what they should get her. I want to tell them some toys that she will love and hopefully use for awhile, but she is my first I am not really sure what is good for her. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any price range is fine becuase all her grandparents are asking for suggestions and DH and I need stuff to get her too!

Thanks so much!

I always recommend the Haba Big Voyage set, as we gave this to DD at a year (could have done earlier) and she still plays with it (pretend play) at nearly 3.

The Lamaze soft shape sorter saw a lot of use.

FP Laugh & Learn Home if you have some space. This is a really great toy and sturdy enough for learning to pull up and stand (but there are fun things to do for the sitter/crawler too).

A bead maze or one of those activity blocks with bead mazes and other things on all sides would probably be useful. We didn't have space but I always thought they looked like fun.

Play Silks. Music CDs. Books (touch and feel, board books). A soft ball.

Good luck!

-Gertie ball
-stacking cups
-ring stacker
-shape sorter or some other type of "put in, take out" kind of toy
-soft shapes books (DD got one of these for her first Christmas and still plays with them)
-neurosmith music block if you want something bigger
