My son will be 21mo at Christmastime. He is starting to become fascinated with puppets. I got him a couple for the bath, but wanted some good hand puppets for play outside of the tub.

I don't really want those that look like stuffed animals. I am looking for good hand puppets that he could try and use as well. I remember having these great knit puppets as a child, and wish I could find something like it! I want puppets that have a mouth that opens wide, also.

Any ideas on some great puppets? I would probably want to get animal puppets.

Thanks!
Stephanie

I know Melissa and Doug make some puppets. I never really looked closely at them, but their products seem to be of high quality so I'm sure their puppets are too.

Hi, These do look like stuffed animals but they do have mouths that open. Thought I would suggest it.
Good luck!

The Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta has a FABULOUS gift shop and sell their puppets online. I have bought everything from finger puppets to muppets (they are involved with the Jim Henson foundation) to life like people hand puppets. Their website is

http://www.puppet.org/

The front page has a link to their onine store.

Hope that helps!
