Does anyone know if Costco has a leapster this year?

My DH is about to make a so long overdue trip to Costco. We were thinking of getting DS a Leapster for his birthday and wondering if this is the kind of thing my husband can just walk in and buy off the shelf at a random Costco. Has anyone seen one this year? If so, what color and with what games? Thanks so much for helping!

Stores stock differnt things it seems. Costco near Boston didn't have them that I saw (I wasn't looking for one but was looking for other toys). SORRY!

Our Costco has the Leapster in two colors but I don't remembered what games came with them.

I'm pretty sure I saw one at ours too (MA). I wasn't paying a huge amount of attention, but I think it had some kind of Backyardigans game with it (that's why I noticed, 'cause DS likes the Backyardigans although he's a bit young for the Leapster).

Call ahead to your local store and see if they have them in stock. They can check their computers and also see if any other area stores have them in stock!

My costco has L-max, which i *think* is the leapster that you can hook up to your TV or use handheld. I think it came with one game, either Dora or Backyardigans, and I think it was about $79. i can't remember the color--maybe silver? or green?

Walmart has a set with the non-LMax Leapster, one cartridge and a carry case for $59. Its sold out online, but my Walmart had a huge stack of 'em. The game is just a letter game (no "characters") , I can't remember the name. Walmart online still lists it, though. It also has a built-in game. Its grey and green (rather ugly actually!) and the carry case is blue.
