View Full Version : Does this toy exsist? (AKA, what I'm looking for is...)

I want a "radio" for my young toddler. I want buttons that he can push to change the "stations" and turn it on and off. Right now I don't think he is capable of much more. I want it to either play a good variety of kids songs, or represent a variety of music styles. I want it to sound good, like real music.

I would really be happy if it morphed into something nice later (like I could put real CDs in it in the future).

Any suggestions?

If not, what are some other options that may not meet all my criteria?

It doesn't meet all of your criteria but this has been one of the biggest hits at our house. DD was given this last Christmas when she was 18 months old. We went out and got another one as a back-up because we were concerned about what would happen if it got lost.

It plays 14 "kids" songs. Quality is "ok" but it's a toy and it sounds like a toy...not a Bose. But, it's stood up to a lot of wear and tear in the last year and still is going strong. It was easy for DD to hit the buttons to get to the songs she liked or to stop the music. It's less than $10 at Target.

probably not what you're looking for but...I got this at kohls when the LF stuff was 50% off. It's been a HUGE hit at our house. Then again, I love all LF stuff ;)

Meets some criteria, but not all (FWIW, we don't use it on the fridge, we use it to keep him occupied on car rides):

And not a radio at all, but buttons to push with things that happen (and DS loves pushing the buttons) and somewhat educational. I like that it can do Spanish and English, although since DS hasn't even had any English words yet, I haven't even tried the Spanish!
