This looks interesting. Does anyone have one?

our classroom has a taller set of these that were built by a dad, as well as several playstands. for home, i'd really like a set of these as they fold flat for storage. we use it to make a playsilk covered castle/cave/whatever for calming a high energy day. the children love taking them out, setting them up, and draping the silks. it gives them a focused collaborative task as well as a contained place to settle in.

more than you asked, but yes, i think they're great.

absolutely. they look easy to build. they're square frames you could connect with whatever you prefer: screws, dowels, dovetailing. the ones we have in the classroom are sets of two connected by two brass hinges. we take out as many sets as we need to make the 'castle' the desired size. the angle as well as securing the large silks/cloths across two sets with playclips makes it sturdy.

That is really cool - I actually like that too because it has more of a fort/playhouse feeling. I made something that shape out of some large cardboard boxes, where it was open on top and you could bend the sides to create the inside shape you wanted. The kids really loved it, until it got rained on one night... and that was the end of their cardboard box fortress ;)
