View Full Version : What blocks for a 15 month old?

I'd like to get DD some blocks for Christmas, wondering what type would be best for her at approx. 15 months. We have fabric covered foam blocks that are cheap and don't stack well, so I'm looking for something a little more substantial. There are some Haba sets that seem to be for toddlers and then the large, plain blocks for older kids (unit blocks, is that what they're called?). Will the "baby" blocks be too young for her in a year or so? Will the unit blocks be too big for her to do anything with at this point? I'm looking to buy something with some longevity.

Thanks,
Monica

Our library has these foam blocks that are just great. They are lightweight and fairly soft but still stack well. We ended up getting regular wood blocks instead but DD was several months older when I found them.
