My mom wants to buy my DD a doll for Christmas, but we don't know where to start. She like for it to be a pretty little doll that DD might like to snuggle with. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I am getting my 7 month old DD a doll for Christmas as well. After much decision I decided on the Kathe Kruse Nicki doll. She comes in ten different colors and is poseable. http://www.oompa.com/cgi-bin/item/KK74191

The other dolls I considered were:

Hearthsong dimple doll. http://tinyurl.com/y5oetn

Organic doll. http://www.oompa.com/cgi-bin/item/KJ4856B

Corelle Babipouce http://www.kidsurplus.com/cor00234.html http://tinyurl.com/ybldyp

I bought the Manhattan Toy Company Sweet Pea doll for my one year old and my 3 month old niece. It is adorable! I found it at Learning Express. I also bought a Corolle Calin for my one year old.

Madame Alexander Baby Huggums. This has been my dd's favorite doll since she was about 7 months old. She is now 7.5 and still sleeps with "Baby Doll".

I was really suprised at how big the babipouce is IRL. I bought one for a shower gift and a Calin for DD and they are the same size. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably just go with the Calin since it is realistic and probably has more staying power.

My DD has the Nicki doll (got it for her 1st birthday). It is a good size for a little child and she gets carried everywhere by her hat. My DD loves to carry her with the last 3 fingers and palm which leaves her thumb and forefinger free for other activities :) We're getting a second one as a backup.
