I am dying to know which ones are hot this year and which ones people are drolling over too. I would like to get my son either the Learning Express blue and white one or the Melisa and Doug one. Both of these I can buy at nearby stores so I don't have to wory as much about shipping delays and waiting for the item to arrive. I love the Bake and Grill one too, but I don't think I can find it nearby.

Thanks,

Jessica.

I know I have posted about it before but I must say that we have been really happy with the Kidkraft LE edition kitchen. DS loves it and plays with it daily. My LE had to bring it in from another store because apparently the primary color version is popular. If I were you, I would decide soon for which ever one you want. Gender neutral kitchens are hard to find!

We got the small pastel kidkraft that is/was on sale at Target right now. It arrived the other day, can't wait to get it put together for Hanukkah! The cheapy plastic one we already have will go in the upstairs playroom.

We originally bought the Marvel Kitchen Island, but returned it due to some problems we were having with the screws. Will ultimately end up going with the less expensive Kidkraft Lil' Gourmet Kitchen Island and matching Kidkraft Lil' Gourmet Fridge.

We have the red retro kitchen from Pottery Barn Kids. She is getting the dishwasher this Christmas.

We got the pink retro from costco. I was preparing to buy the m&d one and that's what we'd have had costco's come out a day later!

DD1 will be getting the stove/sink combo from Willow Toys. It's really cute; it has a hood and a stove. If you like the looks of the Elves and Angels' ones, then you'll like the ones from Willow Toys. We try not to buy too much for our DC, so next year the two girls will be getting the matching refrigerator.

It was a tough decision. I debated for at least a year which one I wanted but I think I made the right choice.

I may be the only plastic- I went with the Step 2 Deluxe kitchen. DS only 16 months old- I felt a wood kitchen would not be safe or sized for him. IF he still loves it in a few years, we can upgrade!

And step2.com had free shipping!

I'm glad to read that...we finally took the plunge and bought the LE edition for DS. He loves playing with it at a friend's house. I can't wait for Chanukah so we can give it to him! ;-)

I got dd the French kitchen set from WH Swiss for her birthday. She's been very happy with it and spends so much time cooking there.
This Christmas, we might get her the Froebel blocks or the Frigits and Haba marbel ball tilt. Not sure yet.

For those that bought at Costco - was it online or in the store? My Costco didn't have any in the store. I also don't the the retro one online.

For the KidKraft - what does the LE give you?

Thanks!

The Costco one can still be found online, but no picture or price - it says it is sold out, but that there will more in stock before Christmas. (Not sure whether that's true). You can view pictures of it at kidkraft.com - it looks very much like the PBK one to me, but I haven't seen it irl.

What does LE Edition stand for?

Learning Express edition. The colors for it are exclusive to their store (basically white and royal blue). Just bought one for ds :)

Just out of curiousity, does anyone know if Kidkraft is the manufacturer behind the PBK pink set? Wondering who is the manufacturer for all their sets. Does anyone know who makes them for PBK?

We are getting the PBK Red Retro set of fridge/stove/sink. I actually debated the Pro Chef set because I loved the look but ultimately decided on the Retro. I was looking for three seperate pieces that could go up against the wall, was gender neutral, and would look good in our family room. It should arrive in a few days and I can't wait 'til the kiddos get it!

The Kidkraft Retro Kitchen set at Costco is $139.99 in-store. I think it is $179.99 online with shipping included (not currently available, but may pop up again before Xmas online).

I don't think I saw anyone mention this one (sorry if I missed it). Does anyone have this one?

I can't get over thinking it's too girly for my boy, though I'm trying not to think that way. I think it is adorable, and Costco has it shipped for $160.

We have it from last year and love it. It's held up well. My only complaint is that the knobs don't make that "click, click" sound when they're turned.

I'm thinking about that KidKraft one. Babyuniverse has it for $124. W/ Shipping it's around $133. Ebates makes it like $127 or so.

I'm thinking of this one also

Deborah - I believe the one you posted is the pastel version of the Kidkraft primary kitchen sold at Learning Express. I considered getting the one you posted and painting over the pink parts. My local Learning Express ended up letting me use a coupon on the primary kitchen, so I ended up going with that one. (It was $150 + tax with my 25% off coupon. I don't know if there are any coupons like that out right now, though.)

I love the Kidkraft Grill and Bake kitchen (we don't have one, but I like that there are 2 sides and a grill!)

Babyuniverse.com has it on sale right now for $124.88. I think they charge $7.95 shipping per order and no tax. Good deal. But obviously not an "easy" return policy like Costco where you can just bring it to the store if you decide not to keep it.

Sadly, I don't seem to have a local LE. The closest one is about 70 miles. And I don't have any coupons for them.

This forum is so bad for my wallet! I really want that Learning Express one now! I was thinking about one of the primary color ones, but since we don't have a playroom and this will be in our main living space, I find that red, blue, yellow combo to be really hard on the eyes. Also I think the primary island one will actually require more space than one that goes against the wall.

Maybe I will call the LE that is about 70 miles away and see if they have any deals!

The Costco Retro Pink set is back on their website and available right now. $179.99 (shipping included)--versus $139.99 in-store.

Just wanted to post that the STep2 little helpers is a pretty short kitchen. They have it at our tennis club nursery. Its the perfect height for my huge 17 month old- but I went with a bigger kitchen out of fear that he would outgrow it too quickly! But I do Like that it has "counter space" on the cook top.

We decided to go with the Target one. I can't wait to put it together!

Incidentally Littleman has been excited to see Santa and tell him what he would like for Christmas. Every day he's had some new thing he wants. Well when the "big moment" finally came today, lo and behold he asked Santa for a wooden kitchen! The kitchen's already hiding in the garage. I can't believe he actually asked for something he's already getting. (LOL!)
