Wedgits vs Magna tiles

I am looking at these for my 4yo. Is one better/more fun than the other? Can you use them together?

They don't fit together, if that's what you're asking.

DD loves her Wedgits sets (we love playing with them, too! :)), and this year we're giving her a set of Magna-Tiles. I don't know if one is necessarily more fun than the other, but I think for younger kids, Wedgits are probaby easier to use, though that wouldn't be an issue for your 4 y.o.. I think you can do a lot more with the Magna-Tiles. Is there a store near you where he can try both?

If he really likes to build different things, maybe try the Magna-Tiles DX set with the wheels and other accessories.

We have Wedgits and they get played with periodically, but not everyday, or even close to it.

I know Caroline (c99) raves about Magnatiles ands says they are a great buy! Maybe she'll chime in here and give her 2 cents. I'm thinking of buying them on her rave alone!

I don't know about Wedgits but we have Magna tiles for my 3yo DS and absolutely LOVE THEM. It's one of his most played with toys, which is saying a lot. He's actually not that into toys right now but loves his Magna Tiles. Also, friends who come over including his 6.5yo cousin always love to play with them so I think they'll last for a long time. I would love to get him more, he makes the most imaginative things with them and it's really interesting to see how different kids make different things. I see younger kids (2yo) not really getting the 3D thing and making 2D shapes with them, which are also fun and older kids copying the complex designs on the instruction sheet wheras my DS and 4-6yolds tend to use their imagination most. I learned about Magna Tiles from this bb and am so glad that I did. HTH

I love the Magna-Tiles and so do both of my kids (I don't think it's ever even occured to DD, age 19mo, to play with them in 2-D). Andrea, if you are not sure if your DS will like them, they have huge bins of them on the second and third floors of the DuPage Children's Museum. No experience with Wedgits.
