Hi everyone,

My son just started loving those little matchbox cars so I would like to get him some more, and also some type of garage, ramp toy that he could drive the cars on. Does anyone here have any favorties. I don't want something hard to put together, and it can't have really small pieces b/c I have a baby.

TIA

DS has been playing with this at a friend's place. It's not really a garage, but they put all of the matchbox cars and tiny Tonka trucks on it and he loved it!!!

Ds has that garage. He really likes it. He only tends to use his Little People toys with it though. It is a good option for a home with a baby since there are no choking hazards.

This would probably get my vote. We don't have it yet but ds (4yo) is very taken with it.

Toys To Grow On (ttgo.com) has a lot of garages and such. Check out their selection.

Just some other thing related you may like:
Ds is getting this Mack the Truck (from Cars) playset. It is a tractor trailer that opens up for looks to be single car storage and activities. My ds is a Cars' lover so I am betting he will like this.

At TRU over with all the HotWheels and Matchbox cars they have some generic orange tracks. They are very handy. Ds can just race the cars along the track, make a hill by propping one end up (we bought 3 of these tracks since they were $1/ each) and whatever he would like. They also seel a generic or brand name car carrier trucks. It can hold 6-8 matchbox cars and it has been a big hit.

Not a garage or anything but a fun looking toy:

We have this one also and it was a huge hit last year because of the ramps. I was trying to find something along the same lines as the FP Parking Garage from way back that DS plays with at Nana's house. I really do like the Plan City toys.

For those with the Plan garage, is the roadway system necessary? We already have Thomas track and I wasn't on planning on getting the roadway, but will consider it if is hugely different or adds alot to the garage! TIA!

I asked this the other day and a few people said that it's compatible with the Thomas stuff (we're getting DS the garage for xmas too!), so I think we'll stick with what we have for now. If after a while, we find that we need more or different stuff, then we'll buy some.

Thanks for responding - this is great to know! And a great strategy to wait and see... :)

We are getting just the garage. no roadway system. DS just wants a place to drive his cars into, park em and drive them away. I don't think the roadway is necessary.
