I thought DS would love them, and coincidentally my SIL bought him a set for his birthday, but they are still a little advanced for him, and he doesn't seem interested. He's 2. At what age might he start understanding how they "work?"

My ds didn't start playing with them until he was 6.

He could do some with them younger but 3+ would be a better age.

I introduced them to DS when he was around 3. He's still not really into building with them yet though.

DS received a set as a gift for his third birthday at the end of October and he has been playing with them lately. He usually builds small "houses" and puts more loose pieces in the middle. :)

I just bought a set of the bigger lincoln logs and my kids ( 3 and 4) have LOVED them

They are fatter than the "real" ones and easier for lil hands

My son is very good at putting things together (fine motor skills?), so I figured he'd really like them, but once I opened them, I realized that they won't look like much to him yet. They don't actually click together, and of course he can't really envision what he can make with them yet. I'm sure he'll enjoy them in another year or so. :) Thanks!
