dd's dresser is overrun with hair accessories, purses (a girl cannot have enough), "jewels", sunglasses etc

I need to compartmentalize!

as for toy storage, I just think of the house as one big toy organizer

I'm with you on this one! I read a magazine this weekend (and I ripped out the page I was so inspired) that suggested to use a cutlery organizier thingy to put different hair ties in. I don't have that many, but I did take a metal ring (from an office supply store, not sure what they are called) and used that to put all of DD's hair ties on.
