DD loves Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses. So my parents bought her this toy that she really likes but I think we are doing something wrong. The doll sounds like it is grinding gears when her appendages (arms and leg) move and one of the arms isn't responding as well as the other and the one leg. Is this normal or do we have a defect? Thanks, as usual, for any input. :)

You mean the one where you squeeze the legs and she twirls? If so, we have that one. I find that the arms need to be in just the right position for it to work. She got it for her birthday (not from us) and I find it to be a bit annoying because its frustrating for her.

No, there isn't any squeezing invloved. The child puts on receivers (I think that is what they are) on their wrists and ankles and barbie tells you how to dance or you dance and barbie dances with you. She is attached to a stand and will twirl, her arms and one leg move.

It is way too complicated for her at 2 1/2 (it says 3 and up though!). I can't figure out the darn thing, shouldn't be too complicated for (at least I don't think so, lol) and she wants to play with it constantly.

Kudos to my dad and DH who put it together and promptly lost the directions, :(.
